We wish you a reflective Advent season!

Also this year we have Christmas themes. Every Friday during the Advent season you will find something to smile about, something to look forward to, something to think about …  .

Fourth Advent:

wow… in a few days a special year will end,
which has kept us all very busy.
Therefore we would like to thank you once
again for your loyalty and support!

The extraordinary situation this year has
presented us all with challenges – whether in
our everyday lives, at work or in our private lives.
At the same time, people are reporting a
high level of solidarity, neighbourhood help
and mutual trust. We hope that many of
these positive effects will continue in the
coming year.

We would like to contribute a small
part to this and therefore, as in previous years,
support institutions and projects.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and send
our best wishes for 2021.

Your Schuchmann Team

Third Advent:

Do elephants freeze in winter?

Shortly before Christmas we visited our godchild Minh-Tan in the Osnabrück Zoo. We asked ourselves the question whether the elephants are actually cold in winter.

“Yes, the skin on their ears is thin and they can get cold,” says Andreas Wulftange from Osnabrück Zoo. That’s why the animals are fed something richer in calories in winter and there is a heat lamp in the elephant house under which they can warm themselves.

To make sure that the keepers (Alexander Nolte and Daniel Menken) in the elephant enclosure don’t get cold either, we took them something to warm them up – cups of tea and chocolate.

Second Advent:

A little clumsy angel annoys with great joy the other angels in heaven with cheeky jokes. But one day he is called to God personally. Will he now receive a lecture?

First Advent:

We are making a manni. christmas candle
Are “WOW” –  Christmas decorations still missing? We have an idea and of course a template for a candle.

  • Material list: large pillar candle, coloured wax sheets, Knives & Scissors and cutting board.

  • Print out the template and cut it out with scissors.

  • Now you can put the cut out printout on the wax sheet and cut around the shape with with a knife.

  • Now put the wax plate on the candle and press it firmly. The edges can easily be smoothed with a warm finger.

  • If you like, you can make a Father Christmas cap from other colours or decorate the candle with stars etc. for Christmas.

Have fun with handicrafts!
