How to choose the right device

Parents of a child with a limitation are often overwhelmed when they have to decide on an assistive device. Decision-making aids and tips are the subject of two presentations given by our training manager and occupational therapist Andrea Espei at the Occupational Therapy Show in Birmingham on 24 and 25 November.

“In order for the little ones in the nursery or
preschool to be able to really participate, they need aids for playing and learning,” says Andra Espei. That’s why the first part of the lecture is also about the right support from the beginning. Early intervention is about making the most of a child’s full potential and giving them opportunities to be active.

The agony of choice

Which aid fits which situation – a chair for sitting at home or at school? Is the optimal physiological sitting posture or being able to sit and interact with your family the most important factor? Answers to these questions will be considered in the second part of the lecture (25.11).  In both lectures, the ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) will be used to analyse the situation and make the decision-making process transparent.

Come and look

We will also have our products for sitting, standing, walking, travel and bathing on stand G48 at the show –  our height adjustable supine standing frame till. will also be there.
