First concrete pillar for the new building

The beginning of the construction work in Bissendorf was celebrated with a so-called “support festival”. In the coming months, our new company location will be built on the 20,000 square meters area.

Excavators, sparkling wine and sausages. The Schuchmann team celebrated the start of the construction work together with numerous guests. Employees of the Goldbeck construction company symbolically set the first concrete column for the production building. The 10 meter long pier had been decorated with a blue ribbon especially for this day. The size of the 12-tonne column alone gives an idea of what will be erected on the site in the coming months.

Modern workplaces, surrounded by greenery

“The new building and the relocation will enable us to tackle new challenges and to position ourselves stably for the future,” said Managing Director Torsten Schuchmann in his speech. For many employees, the support festival was the first opportunity to take a look at their “future” place of work. They were particularly impressed by the view of the nearby forest and the surrounding fields and meadows.

  • Looks so small. But this support is actually 10 meters long and weighs 12 tons.

  • Miriam and Torsten Schuchmann cut the ribbon together with the guests. The crane can then place the concrete support in the foundation.

  • The concrete support is carefully erected.

  • Maximum concentration is required.

  • Many employees and guests watch the action with excitement.

  • Done! The first column is up. Miriam and Torsten Schuchmann are relieved that things worked out so well. Representatives of the Bielefelder building contractor Goldbeck congratulate with a special gift.

  • A mini model of the new enterprise location. The original will be even more impressive.

  • At the subsequent celebration, the new workplace was discussed over sausage and beer.

  • Hard to imagine. In the summer of 2020, buildings - administration, production and logistics - will be located here.

  • "Is my office here? Or is that where the production is?

  • The Schuchmann team was able to gain an initial overview of the new working environment on the basis of the plans ...

  • ..... and discuss it. One thing is certain: everyone is already very excited about the new and modern workplaces and is already looking forward to the coming year.

Well positioned for the future

“By bundling our processes at one location, we can optimize our processes and have more opportunities to develop further,” says Managing Director Torsten Schuchmann. All areas should benefit from this. Among other things, the storage area will be tripled to 1500 pallet spaces.

Above all, however, our customers will benefit – through even better service. We are already very much looking forward to developing and manufacturing aids at the new location that will make everyday life easier for children and young people with physical disabilities.

Move in by summer 2020

The buildings should be ready for occupancy within a year. After completion of the second construction phase, there will be enough space for administration, production, sales and logistics on around 9400 square meters. Schuchmann is investing a total of 10 million euros in the new location.

Our team in the UK/France is already very excited to see the new company location in person and we are already looking forward to the inauguration party next year.
