Three questions for Gerret

Behind each of our products are people who work every day to help make everyday life a little easier for disabled children and teens. We would like to introduce you to some of these people in our series “Three questions for …”.

Today we would like to introduce Gerret Gorholt. Gerret has been working for us as a development engineer for about 4 years. One of his last big projects was the redesign of ‘madita-fun.’!

1. Gerret, what did you want to be when you were a child?

I’ve always been a tinkerer through and through. So I soon realised that I wanted to become an engineer. So I turned playing into a profession, so to speak.

2. Why did you choose Schuchmann as your employer?

The initial motivation was that my daughter has special needs and I wanted to get more involved with the aids. At the interview, we were immediately on the same wavelength. The final attraction was the wide range of tasks involved in the job: we work with a wide variety of materials and components, which makes development very challenging and therefore interesting for me.

3. What do you like to do in your free time?

My favourite hobby is my family. With two children, my wife and I are always well occupied with activities. When I want some time for myself, I build around the house and garden, make a BBQ or pizza. Sport is also on the agenda from time to time.

Thank you for the interview, Gerret!
